Snag Academy — Privacy Policy

This policy covers two things: the Snag Academy app, and the snagacademy.com website. They behave differently, so they are described separately. Neither asks you to create an account, and neither carries advertising or analytics that follows you.

The app

Built on a simple principle: we collect no personal data.

• No accounts. The app never asks for a name, email, phone number, or photo.
• No ads. The app contains no advertising and no ad SDKs. This will not change: advertising has no place in front of a child, and the app is the part a child uses.
• No analytics, no tracking. The app contains no analytics or tracking identifiers of any kind.
• Everything stays on your device. Puzzle progress and puzzles you create are stored only on your own device. Even the app's fonts are bundled inside it — opening the app makes no request to any third party.
• Device backups. Android's own backup system may include the app's progress data in the backup of your device that is stored in your Google account. That backup belongs to you; we have no access to it. If you disable Android backup, progress exists only on the device and uninstalling the app deletes it.
• Purchases are processed entirely by Google Play using the device's Google account. We never see payment details. Purchases in the app sit behind a parent gate.
• Content updates. The app may periodically check our website for updated puzzle text. This request contains no personal information and no identifiers.

The website

The website is written for grown-ups — parents, teachers and schools. The one exception is /play/, which is the app itself running in a browser, and which children use. That page is treated as part of the app, not part of the website: the rules in this section that could affect a child do not apply to it, and the paragraph on advertising says so explicitly.

What the website stores on your device

No cookies, and no tracking of any kind. There are no analytics, no tag managers, no pixels, and no social or advertising scripts. Because nothing is stored and nothing is tracked, there is no consent banner to click through. The fonts are served from our own domain rather than a font provider.

The app at /play/ stores your puzzle progress in your own browser's local storage, on your own device. It is never sent anywhere.

Server logs

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, it records standard connection data — such as an IP address, the page requested, and the time — in its security and performance logs. We do not use, analyse, profile, or share that data, and we do not combine it with anything else.

Advertising on the website

The website may carry advertising for schools, colleges and other education providers. It is aimed at the page, never at the person — a college appears beside writing that parents of that age group read, the way an advertisement sits next to a particular article in a newspaper. Nothing about you decides which advertisement you see. Where the site carries advertising:

• Ads are sold directly by us. There is no ad network, no auction and no broker.
• An ad is a plain image and a link, hosted on our own domain. It runs no script, sets no cookie, and cannot see you.
• There is no profile, no browsing history and no interest category behind it. We do not build one, and could not — the site stores nothing on your device and measures nothing about you.
• Advertisers receive no data about visitors, not even a count tied to an individual. They buy a place on a page for a period of time, and that is the whole transaction.
• Ads are never shown on /play/, and never anywhere a child is the intended reader.
• We turn down anything we would not want next to a page about first aid or child safety.

If that ever changes — if we were ever to use an ad network that tracks people, or to choose an advertisement from anything about you rather than about the page — this policy would be rewritten first and the change stated plainly at the top of it. We do not intend to.

Money

Nothing is sold on this website and no payment is ever taken here. There is no checkout, no payment processor, and no card, UPI or bank detail is ever entered on these pages. The only money in Snag Academy moves through Google Play, inside the Android app, and is described under The app above.

Downloads

The printable cards are generated in your own browser and saved directly to your device. Nothing is uploaded, and we do not know what you downloaded or when.

Children

The app is designed for children and families. Because it collects no personal data, there is no data about your child for us to sell, share, or lose. This approach is designed to satisfy the Google Play Families policy, COPPA, and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

The website is written for adults, and the one part of it a child uses — the app at /play/ — carries no advertising and no tracking, exactly as the installed app does not.

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you have rights over personal data held about you. In our case there is almost nothing to exercise them against: we hold no accounts, no profiles and no identifiers.
